The locum tenens neonatology opportunity in California Location: Palm Springs, CADuration: February June 2025 (potential for extension)Reason for coverage: We have a retained permanent search (David Rubio)Schedule: 1-2 weeks per monthShift: Monday 7a Monday 7a>Monday Friday, 8a 5p (required to be on-site to admit to NICU)>Saturday Sunday (round on patients and sign out to PEDS HOSP around noon)Call: Yes, 24 hourPatient volume: 8 bed NICU, 80-100 deliveries per monthScope:>Day-to-Day: See all patients in the NICU, conduct neonatal and prenatal consults, and attend all high-risk deliveries>Evening/Night: Take calls from home. PEDS HOSP handle straightforward NICU admissions; neonatologists come in for complicated cases.>After-Hours Call Reasons: Pre-term delivery ( 30%, Stabilization for transport to higher-level careEMR: EpicHospital: 8-bed NICU Level II, 463 general bedsGroup/support: 7 Pediatric Hospitalists, 2 Full-Time Equivalent Neonatologists>PEDS HOSP are in-house 24/7, attending deliveries, admitting and caring for well-baby services, and caring for NICU babies overnight.
